David B Massey serves as Funeral Director in Charge for Affinity Memorial Center. David graduated Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in 1987 and received licensure from the Texas Funeral Service Commission. David worked 28 years for a major independent Funeral Home in Houston, during which time he served on most of the positions available for leadership in the Texas Funeral Directors Association. He served as President of the Texas Funeral Directors Association in 2013. After retiring, he worked for Aldine Funeral Chapel, in Houston. When the current owners of Aldine Funeral Chapel died, they had no succession plan, so he worked with the investors at Consolidated Funeral Services LTD with whom he was able to put together Affinity Memorial Center. Affinity Memorial Center was established to serve the families who frequently felt cremation was the option which suited their needs best, and often did not wish a large funeral in the Funeral Home. David feels that the best location for a celebration of a legacy is often held in their home church, and where possible, this is the best place for a visitation if that is the families wishes. Affinity Memorial Center was founded to provide these families with the most possible choices at the least possible cost, while sacrificing none of the dignity of a celebration of memories.

One of his greatest joys was that his granddaughter, who knows David as "Gan" was able to accompany him and his wife Marsha on many of the events associated with his four years as an officer with TFDA. Marsha finished courses at Baldwin Beauty School when David was in Mortuary School, and instead of a traditional beauty saloon practice, soon became involved in the cosmetics and hairstyling at the funeral home. Her goal is to make everyone who wishes a traditional viewing look just like they were ready for church on Sunday morning. She still assists at Affinity Memorial Center to assure that every family is treated like a family member.

They are members of St tephens United Methodist Church, and Marsha has served on several teams in the Houston Kairos Outside Community.
