Charles Ray Jones
Charles Ray Jones passed away April 14, 2016 at his home in Conroe, Texas. He was born April 3, 1932 in DeQuincy, Louisiana, where he grew up until his family moved to Mauriceville, Texas when he was about 19 years old. He graduated from Mauriceville High School and joined the Army in 1952. He was a veteran of the Korean war and served two years in Germany as a member of the military police.
Charles was always working with his hands. He loved repairing things and making them work again. His love of wood working led him to a career in the cabinet, trim and finish work that lasted more than 30 years. He was an avid fan of country music, the Texas Longhorns, the Houston Texans, Coca-Cola and Blue Bell ice cream. He may have been born in Louisiana, but he was 100% Texan. What he loved most was his family, most especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Charlie M. Jones, mother Margaret E Jones, his wife Dorothy Brown Jones, brothers Lynn H Jones, Larry E Jones, and Robert “Bobby” Jones.
He is survived by one brother, Gerald K Jones of Romayor, TX, one sister Dorothy Ware of Mauriceville, TX, his children Charles Ray Jones Jr. and wife Kathy Kelly Jones of Camden AR, Debi Jones Myers of Camden, AR, Shelly Renee Jones of Conroe, TX.
